GLOBAL ISSUES CONFERENCE, March 23 – 27, 2015

Call for Participation

DEADLINE: December 15th, 2014

This conference is rooted in the idea that the interconnected nature of the global arena today encourages discussion and sharing of local opinions. A true picture of global issues can only be created through the exchange of different worldviews and perspectives from different cultural contexts.  The Global Issues Conference will facilitate student-centered discussions on a wide range of topics which impact young people and their futures across the globe.

Conference Format

During the weeklong virtual conference, there will be multiple sessions covering topics which have an impact across the globe. The conference will operate online and enable faculty-sponsored undergraduate and graduate students from our Global Partners in Education (GPE) to deliver pre-prepared presentations, posters, and papers on the session topic. Each session will be chaired by a faculty member of the GPE organization and include up to 4 partner institutions. Due to the different time zones we will schedule sessions with the same topic at multiple times to allow a diversity of partners to participate in the discussions.

Conference Results

The presentations, papers, and posters will be published online as a document resource for all members of the GPE to access.  Selected student papers will be published in a special edition of the Global Partners in Education Journal and certificates will be provided to all participating students.

Call for Participation

As the GPE encompasses a wide range of academic disciplines and interests, the session topics are general to encourage multidisciplinary participation in the discussions ensuring a broad-based approach. We are looking for presentations related to current situations in your home countries. Potential topics may include, but are not limited to:

·        International Business and Economics
